A1 UK Spouse Visa test

A1 English Test is a Secure English Language Test (SELT) for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) provided through LanguageCert’s Global network of the Home Office approved SELT centres. It is a dual skill (speaking and listening) exam in English.

Exam Duration: 6-8 Minutes

Four Short conversation with examiner (Online)

It is used for Spouse Visa wherein you are looking to get a leave to remain for 2.5 years in the UK.

Grade Boundaries Candidates are awarded:

1. High Pass [38/50]

2.Pass [25-37/50]

Exam Preparation Material:

It is recommended to go through the preparation material for better performance and success. It is advisable and always good to prepare for the test.

You will receive the preparation material on booking the test with us.

The exam material covers the marking criteria, sample questions, topics and sample interview (audio).

 

A 1 Test Format

Part 1: Give and spell name

State country of origin

Answer 5 questions

 

Part 2: 2 or 3 situations presented by the interlocutor

You are required to respond to the questions

 

Part 3: Exchange information to identify similarities and differences in pictures depicting familiar situations

 

Part 4: You will be given 30 seconds to prepare

Talk about a topic provided by the interlocutor for half a minute

Answer the follow up questions

 

You have to Listen to the interlocutor and answer questions

Part 4b Long turn:

You have to deliver (speak) a short, uninterrupted talk on a topic given by the interlocutor
